Our group has had a hard time deciding what to do for our catapult and how to construct it. I felt that we needed to listen to one another more in order for us to really understand what ideas were brought to the table. Our group could not find a solution for how we were going to allow the arm of the catapult pull back and then forward with the release. Miriam suggested we use springs for the extra force, but we could not find a way to incorporate that in order for it to work.
Catapult Materials - Finding the right materials for our catapult and making sure everything was cost effective. At our first attempt, we decided to use inner tubes for the pull-back force of the catapult. However with the consult of our teacher, he suggested we look into using exercise or therapy bands because these would hold our catapult arm stronger and would add extra force. We began to look into the price of the bands in order to create an accurate material list. We also had to find the correct wood pieces and set a time for when exactly we will have these materials by. In addition, I suggested to my teammates that we have to know by tomorrow the exact position the catapult will be placed for our challenges. This would mean finding how many feet away from the tree we are going to be.
